Books at The Cowshed
At The Cowshed, we’re thrilled to offer a special place where children of all ages can explore the wonders of reading. From exciting adventures to funny tales and fascinating facts, there’s a book waiting here just for you! Visit us at Rubra Two in Wokingham, Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. Come in and pick five books to take home for free and place them in one of our special tote bags made from recycled fabric by our amazing craft group- it’s like carrying a piece of the forest with you! And guess what? Once you’ve finished reading, simply bring back your tote bag anytime for five more wonderful stories! Let’s grow our love for reading together at The Cowshed Book Tree.
We also have a free children’s library outside the gates of Emmbrook Infant and Junior School. It is somewhere that local children could easily access free reading materials. We believe all children should be able to have access to books and also to keep their favourites should they wish! Therefore, we are so excited about this project!
The Cowshed stocks community bookshelves for asylum seeking children living in local hotels. With only £9 a week per person, getting access to local amenities is often challenging and so we’ve been working in partnership with Care4Calais to make local hotels a kinder place. We now provide children’s books in every asylum seeker hotel across Berkshire.
