Christmas at The Cowshed
Every Year, The Cowshed helps thousands of children who would not otherwise receive Christmas presents. In 2021 we gave out sacks of gifts and hampers to 2,420 people and in 2022 this number rose to 3,141. As the cost-of-living crisis continues to affect families across our community, we anticipate there being a great need for support again this coming Christmas, and at The Cowshed, we will do our best to ensure that the children in our community do not go without presents.
Children receiving presents are referred to us by other professional organisations, and on doing so, the referrers are given the opportunity to specify a child’s interests and we try our best to take this into consideration when selecting gifts. All gifts are lovingly wrapped by our team of ‘Elves at The Cowshed’ and put into fabric sacks made by our wonderful craft group before being delivered or collected in time to bring joy for Christmas.
Christmas at the Cowshed is very much a coming together of local people, churches, schools, companies and other organisations. Last year the Christmas Appeal was supported by a wealth of local people and organisations who donated and helped in some way.
You can help be a part of this special project by donating a gift or organising a collection amongst your friends and colleagues. One of the ways of helping is by taking one of our Christmas Present Post Boxes or buying a gift from our Wish List.
If you would like to help The Cowshed make this Christmas special for families experiencing hardship within our community, please do email us on rebecca@thecowshed.org.
