We are excited to announce our partnership with Activate Learning bringing sewing and craft lessons to the local community.  We would love you to join us at our beautiful office in Hurst and spend a few hours learning to sew or craft with our qualified instructors.  All funds raised from course fees go back into the charity to help us continue to support those in need within our community.

Ever fancied learning how use a sewing machine? Then this is the perfect course for you!

Sarah will introduce you to your sewing machine and teach you the sewing techniques you’ll need to start creating!

Join Sarah where she consolidates the building blocks of sewing and inspires you to follow your creativity.

Easy-to-follow lessons include getting to know your sewing machine, creating a stitch directory, and sewing projects such as making tote bags, some simple home furnishings and developing your skills.

Course Outline:

  1. Getting to know your machine – practice by creating a stitch directory.
  2. Make a sewing machine Mat
  3. Make a Thread Catcher with pin cushion
  4. A Simple Tote bag with a zip pocket
  5. A craft Apron

Gain new skills and increase your confidence through crafting in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Join Rachel, a passionate, knowledgeable, and patient arts & crafts tutor who will give you a supportive environment in which to develop your skills as well as teaching subjects such as card making, and decoration making.

Explore your artistic side and discover how to set your inner child free!

Course Outline:

  1. Create a hand stamped card using stamped images.
  2. Learn how to create a pop-up card.
  3. Look at using recycled materials in card making.
  4. Create gorgeous giant paper flowers to decorate your home.
  5. Use recycled materials to create Christmas décor.
  6. Discover items you can make using old magazines, books, and newspapers.
  7. Create an individual doodle page using colour and patterns.
  8. Try out dot drawing to create a shaded flower picture.
